If you'd like to decorate your desktop with some of my photos, the following shots are specially designed for use as desktop wallpaper. Here's how to do it.
-
Windows: Choose your favourite image below and click on it to bring up a larger version. You then simply right-click on this larger image and choose 'Set as Wallpaper', and it should do just that. You can tweak your wallpaper's appearance by right-clicking on the Desktop, choosing 'Properties' from the menu that appears, and going to the 'Settings' tab. For example, if your screen is larger than the image you've chosen, you may want to stretch the wallpaper to cover the whole screen.
-
Mac OS: Choose your favourite image below and click on it to bring up a larger version. Next, Ctrl-click the image in Safari and choose 'Save to Desktop' to save it to your computer. Now go to the Apple menu and choose 'System Preferences...' followed by 'Desktop & Screen Saver', and click on 'Choose Folder...' in the left-hand pane. Track down your saved wallpaper (which will be on the Desktop) and choose it, and it will then appear as your wallpaper. You can also choose here whether the image is stretched to fill the screen.
If you can't choose which image you'd like to use, then you can download a zip file of all my desktop wallpaper images (8.2 MB). You can even set up your machine to change your wallpaper automatically; see these Windows instructions or Mac OS instructions for more information.
Finally, if there's an image from my site that you'd like to use as desktop wallpaper that isn't listed here, then you can track down a high resolution version of that image by clicking on its thumbnail, either in the photo library or in an article. If there is a high resolution image available, then you should see a link to it; click on this link and save the image from your browser, and then follow the instructions above to set the image as your desktop wallpaper.
